63rd
SUNDERLAND
Hello and welcome to our Web page. Written and updated especially for you in the hope that one day you would visit. And here you are! All that hard work was worth it! Now that you are here why not stay a while and learn a bit about our group.
St Josephs, 63rd Sunderland, meet at the Social Centre, St Josephs Church, Milifield, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Where? Well MilIfield is in the west of the City, and the City of Sunderland is on the Northeast Coast of England. We are easily found on any map. Of England of course!
We have cubs and scouts, but at the moment no
beavers or venture scouts. The cubs meet at 6pm-7.3Opm and the scouts follow
on 7.3Opm 9pm. That's when the scouts go one way and the leaders the other,
straight into the bar. For the weekly leaders meeting! Yes, we have a licensed
bar in the centre! There are about 10 cubs in the pack and 14 scouts. At
the moment they are being run by Andy Denton, Akela, who is currently a
student at Sunderland University. (He actually volunteered for the job!)
with me assisting. Me? My name is Sheilagh Routledge and I am the scoutleader,
for my sins. My husband, Ken was scoutleader until he became an ADC scouts
for Sunderland District recently. He helps when he can. We also have Vicki
Sunderland, another student, who helps with scouts, and Paul Casson one
of our ex-scouts. He achieved his Chief Scout Award last year and is now
a scout instructor with us.
